The Massachusetts Women & Family Referral Center (WFRC) offers referral support and information to anyone in Massachusetts with questions about Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery supports for pregnant and parenting people.
The WFRC assists callers with information and referrals for treatment and recovery supports for SUDs, by connecting callers with services and providing interim phone counseling services to those unable to be placed immediately in treatment.
Massachusetts has many programs that provide treatment services such as medication supported treatment, including inpatient and outpatient services for withdrawal management, outpatient counseling, peer recovery supports, short-term stabilization support services, residential treatment services, housing supports, recovery support centers, as well as early intervention and home visiting services for young children.
All pregnant people who contact the WFRC are warmly welcomed to engage in services. Pregnancy is a time of opportunity. People are assessed over the phone to gain a full understanding of their current needs and preferences and to determine the appropriate level of care needed.
The WFRC is designed to be available as a resource to the pregnant, postpartum and parenting population throughout the state, as well as the people working with them. We welcome calls to us for information, levels of care, Plans of Safe Care, etc.
